The Vidor Pirates dominated everywhere but the scoreboard as the Montgomery Bears ran their 2-minute drill to perfection to drive 73 yards and score with two seconds remaining on the clock to hand the Pirates a loss in the opening game of the 2019 season.

Montgomery opened the scoring with just 28 seconds gone in the game with a 66-yard scamper to the end zone. The PAT was good and the Bears led 7-0.

The Pirates answered on their next possession when quarterback Dylan Dial took the ball in from one-yard out to cap a 14-play drive to make the score 7-7 with 5:58 remaining in the first.
