Don’t flush them down the toilet. Don’t put them in your weekly garbage pickup container. And please don’t just put them in the back of a bathroom cabinet or drawer, just in case you might need them again. What are we talking about?

We’re talking about legally prescribed prescription narcotics that you have left over from that surgery, tooth extraction or broken bone you had earlier this year or late last year. Opioids in your medicine cabinet need to be properly disposed of now and not hung on to forever.
