Former Vidor music venue reopens with musical weekend

Donna Little, the new co-owner of The Oaks Event Center, (the former VFW Post on South Main St.) asks the Orange County Commissioners’ Court to grant her application for a Hotel Occupancy Tax Revenue Grant to help offset the cost of a free music event next weekend. The Court granted her request.

A venerable Vidor music and event venue will reopen as “The Oaks Event Center” with free concerts and a dance on the weekend of June 14 and 15 at the former VFW Post 8246 on South Main Street.

This week on Tuesday, Orange County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Jessica Hill presented an Orange County Hotel/Motel Occupancy Fund request by The Oaks Event Center for their non-profit Grand Opening - A Veterans’ Tribute.

Venue Co-owner Donna Little took the podium to explain to County Commissioners.
