Lorrie Taylor was named as the Executive Director of the Orange County Navigation and Port District this week by the Port’s Board of Commissioners. Before going to work at the Port of Orange as its Director of Administration and Finance, Ms. Taylor served the City of Vidor as its Finance Director for nearly a decade.

The Board of Commissioners of the Port of Orange selected Lorrie Taylor to be the new Executive Director of the Orange County Navigation and Port District on Monday night. According to Debbie Britnell, Assistant to the Port Director, the Board of Commissioners had been interviewing candidates for the position of Port Director following the recent retirement of Port Director Gene Bouillion. The Commissioners considered a dozen candidates and narrowed those dozen down to three candidates that they interviewed. The Board selected Ms. Taylor, who will be replacing Mr. Bouillion who retired with 20-1/2 years of service to the Port.

Lorrie Taylor is no stranger to the Port of Orange. She has served our county as the Port of Orange Director of Administration and Finance since January 2014. Ms. Taylor received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Lamar University-Beaumont and is a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Taylor’s past experience includes City of Vidor Finance Director for eight years plus one year as the City of Vidor Interim City Manager. Before joining the City of Vidor Ms. Taylor worked 10 years as the Senior Staff Accountant for Cavett, Turner & Wyble, L.L.P.
