Dylan Van Meter surrendered zero runs on five hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight.

Trailing by three since the first inning, the varsity Vidor Pirate baseball team fought back to defeat the Port Arthur Memorial Titans Tuesday in Vidor.

The Titans scored three runs in their first at-bat after a series of walks, a passed ball and a batter was hit by a pitch with a single thrown in for the only Titan hit of the inning.

Pulling starting pitcher Cory Kizer, Dylan Van Metre came on in relief to finish the first inning after two outs.
