LCM Academic Team takes UIL District for 7th consecutive year

According to Stacey Smith, UIL Coordinator for Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School, “It was a great day to be a Battlin’ Bear at UIL Academic District Meet on Saturday, March 30. LCM will be advancing 30 students to the Regional meet in 15 different events.” In six of these contests, LCM teams took all three or four of the top spots. They are Computer Applications, Computer Science, Math, Informative Speaking, Persuasive Speaking and Prose.

This is the seventh consecutive year that LCM has taken the District Title in UIL Academics. LCM finished with 643 points. The next highest score was posted by Bridge City with 299, Hardin-Jefferson – 241, and Hamshire-Fannett-218.
