Pirates fall behind early in district opening loss

The Vidor Pirates hosted the Nederland Bulldogs Tuesday in baseball’s district opener. A big first inning that saw Nederland score four runs was the difference in the game as the Pirates fell to the midcounty team 6-3.

The Pirates were behind 5-0 before they got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third.

Vidor Head Baseball Coach Jeremy Gray said the Pirates’ early miscues were costly.
