Pirate baseball goes 2-1 in West Brook Tournament

The Vidor Pirate varsity baseball team went 2-1 in the West Brook Tournament held Thursday-Saturday.

Opening with Hamshire Fannett, the Pirates won 8-1. The Pirates scored one run in the first inning and the Longhorns matched it, but that was it for the H-F team as the Pirates regained the lead for good in the second inning when they went ahead 3-1. The Pirates scored another run in the top of the third and two runs each in the fifth and sixth.

Cory Kizer got the win for Vidor, going five innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out six.
