Pine Forest takes another step towards drainage projects

The Pine Forest City Council has decided to accept an interlocal agreement with the Angelina & Neches River Authority (ANRA) on the development of the West Orange County Flood Control Project. The City Council met on Monday night in their regularly scheduled monthly meeting and considered whether to enter into the interlocal agreement with ANRA for phase II of their proposed Flood Control Project.

Phase II of the West Orange County Flood Control Project is the part of the project that includes the construction of the canals and locks, the operation of the system and the future maintenance of the entire flood control system. Under the terms of the agreement, the entire agreement with ANRA becomes moot if the City fails to win the estimated $110 million Texas Hazard Mitigation Grant funds to design and construct the drainage project.
