The county’s new ExpressVote voting machine is easy to read and offer instructions on how to use it on its touchscreen. Starting with May 4th City and School Board election, all registered Orange County voters will be using the ExpressVote Machine to mark their ballots.

When you go to the polls to cast your ballot in the May 4th, 2019 City and School Board Election you will use a touchscreen voting machine to make your ballot selection. Orange County Elections Administrator, Tina Barrow said that all voters in Orange County will mark their ballots using a touchscreen voting machine called ExpressVote. The new voting machines are the replacements for the old AutoMark voting machines that were available for any voter in all previous elections.

Ms. Barrow said that these new voting machines will mark your candidate selection on the ballot displayed on its touchscreen and then ask you to check that your selection showing on the screen is correct. If you signify that it has highlighted the correct candidate on the screen-ballot for you it will then mark a paper ballot with your choice that it will return to you at the end of voting so that you might put your marked ballot in the ballot box.
