The Orange County Precinct #2 Commissioner’s Office in Mauriceville on Highway 62 was badly damaged during Hurricane Harvey and subsequent floods. The cost to repair the building is more than the insurance claim that was paid. The new Precinct #2 County Commissioner, Theresa Adams Beauchamp, wants her new office to be located closer to the center of her precinct.

The Orange County Precinct #2 Commissioner’s office in Mauriceville on Highway 62 was badly damaged during Hurricane Harvey. According to Orange County Judge Dean Crooks, the building suffered extensive flood damage.

“I don’t know how deep the water got, but I do know that currently it has no floor,” said Judge Crooks. “And some of the floor joists are also rotten. Besides that, when we got to looking at it we also found damage that was ter on Highway 1442.

The newly sworn in caused by the storm, that wasn’t caused by flooding. The roof itself was damaged including some of the plywood ceiling.”
