A Seguin gunman threatens Vidor Church

The Congregation of the First Baptist Church were unaware that a gunman in Seguin, Texas had threatened their church. The Church had recently increased its security by hiring an armed off-duty police officer to be in attendance at services.

A man armed with a gun, arrested in Seguin, TX on Sunday, for being a felon in possession of a firearm, confessed to a Seguin Police investigator “he was on his way to a church to fulfill a prophecy” and then mentioned the First Baptist Church of Vidor.

According to Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll, on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Vidor Police Department received information from the Seguin, TX Police Department, in reference to a threat against First Baptist Church in Vidor.
