Your property taxes are due in January

This is a sample 2018 Orange County Tax Statement for one property owned by an anonymous County taxpayer. This sample shows the total taxable value of the property before exemptions and then an itemized list of the amount of taxes due to each Orange County taxing entity that has a claim on that property for taxes this year. You can also see each taxing entity’s tax rate and total tax due to that entity.

Your Orange County Ad Valorem Property Taxes are due during the month of January. All Orange County property owners must pay their Ad Valorem property taxes that are levied by each of the Orange County government taxing entities no later than 5:00 P.M. on January 31st, 2019. Property taxes are payable as of October 1, 2018, due on January 1st, 2019 and past due and delinquent as of February 1st 2019.

According to Orange County Tax Assessor/Collector Karen Fisher, the Orange County Tax Office sent out your 2018 Orange County Combined Tax Statement to your primary residential mailbox or to your business’ mailbox if you own a business at a separate location from your home. You may not have recognized the County’s tax statement because it was printed with black letters on white paper. In years past, Orange County Tax Statements were printed on pink colored paper.

That tax statement will list each of your properties by its tax account number, address and tract & parcel information. Each property will have a list of the taxing entities that make a tax claim on that property along with that entity’s 2018 tax rate and the total amount of ad valorem tax due to that entity.
