Pirates take second in Bridge City Classic Basketball Tourney

The varsity Vidor Pirate placed second in the gold bracket of the Bridge City Classic Basketball Tournament Saturday after falling to the Port Neches Groves Indians in the championship game Saturday.

The nine team tournament featured teams from Bridge City, Hull-Daisetta and Anahuac, Pool A; PNG, Orangefield, Sabine Pass, Pool B; and Vidor, Evadale and Tarkington, Pool C.

Vidor defeated Evadale 56-42 and Tarkington 49-21 on Friday, advancing to play Bridge City, the winner of Pool A and Port Neches-Groves, the winner of Pool B on Saturday to determine the tournament champion.
