A brisk North wind mixed with occasional mist and drizzle couldn’t dampen the spirits of hundreds of spectators and players participating in the Vidor Lady Pirates Round Robin Scrimmage held Saturday at the Vidor Junior High School.

Teams from Nederland, Jasper, Hardin-Jefferson, Kelly and Port Arthur Memorial participated in the daylong event.

As for the Lady Pirates, it was the girls first opportunity this season to test themselves against anyone other than an intra-squad opponent.
