Halloween safety tips given

This year All Hallows Eve or Halloween falls on a Wednesday, a school night and a church night for many. While a number of congregations are sponsoring “Trunk or Treat” celebrations in their church parking lots, many parents of Vidor children prefer to accompany their children to the front doors of relatives, friends and neighbors, mostly in their own neighborhoods.

According to Vidor Police Officer Charles Budd, that means there will be a number of small children and their adult parents and guardians walking the streets of Vidor on Wednesday night looking for treats and, hopefully, not looking to cause tricks. Officer Budd said that although this is a special night for children, it is up to all of the rest of us to be aware of the dangers that children and their parents face on Halloween night.
