“Move over” law to be enforced by DPS

Are you aware that since 2003, the Texas Traffic Code has had a law on its books that requires you to slowdown or move-over when approaching a first responder stopped on the shoulder ahead with emergency lights flashing, when you drive on Texas Highways? Did you know that same law requires you to slow your car’s speed to twenty-miles per hour less than the posted maximum speed limit while passing that first responder stopped on the side of that highway, if you can’t move over?

 

Well if you weren’t aware of the Move Over/Slow Down traffic law, your Texas Highway Patrol is about to make sure that you learn the law.
