Lou Washington “L.W.” Locke

Mr. Lou Washington “L.W.” Locke, 86, of Vidor passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at a Beaumont hospital. A resident of Vidor since 1964, Mr. Locke was born Aug. 13, 1931, in DeRidder, La. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a hard worker, employed by Mobil for 38 years retiring as a production supervisor. There was nothing that he could not repair, including electrical, plumbing, and cars. L.W. was proud of his car restoration and was a member of the Golden Triangle Model A Car Club. Gardening was also a passion for him and he was a member of the Azalea Garden Club. Above all, his family was his greatest achievement, always offering help or guidance in any way possible or needed. He and his family were longtime members and supporters of Turning Point Church in Vidor where he and his wife had served as group leaders. His survivors include his wife, Nancy Marlene Locke of Vidor; son and daughter-in-law, Lou Randall “Randy” and Phyllis Locke of Call; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie Lynn and J.C. Statum of Vidor; grandchildren, Nancy Lewis and husband Josh, Marcus Doiron and wife Kristine, Brooke Raymond and husband Charlie, Randall Locke and wife Melissa, and Caitlin Denman and husband Bradley; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lue Locke; mother, Ludie Mckee James; step-father, Edward James; sisters, Alma Scarborough and Evalee Shankle; brothers, Marvin James, Lavon James, and J.C. Locke; a great-granddaughter, Roslyn Locke; and a son-in-law, Douglas Doiron. Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Turning Point Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Turning Point Church with Pastor George Gau officiating. His final resting place will be at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
