Rose City water plant gives residents a Christmas present

Boil water noticed was rescinded last Friday

Last week, on Friday morning, December 22, 2017, the City of Rose City Water Department issued a “Boil Water Rescind Notice” to all of its customers. For the first time since the floods of Harvey overwhelmed the city’s water plant in August, the residents of the small riverside town are able to consume their tap water directly from the spigot.

According to water plant manager Jan Ratcliff, the reason that it took so long to get a clean bill of health for the city’s water supply is that there have been delays in the repairs to the plant.
