Early voting on hospital issue continues

Early voting in the Orange County special December 19 election to decide if citizens wish to create an Orange County Hospital District began this week on Monday. Of course the ballots cast are secret until the election is completed. But some poll watchers claim that they can see a voter trend by just watching where voters are going to the polls.

There are four early voting locations, one each in Vidor, Orange, Bridge City, and Mauriceville and every day after the polls close, the Orange County Elections Administrator announces how many ballots were cast at each early voting polling place. After the first day of early voting, the polling place in Vidor is leading the pack with twenty more votes than the second place early vote location. 177 citizens cast early vote ballots in Vidor on Monday. 157 registered voters cast early votes in Bridge City on December 4th. The City of Orange early vote polling place saw 118 votes cast and 45 voters made their way to the Mauriceville early vote location to cast their early vote ballots.
