A fifteen year-old teenage girl who has been missing from her Mauriceville home since Sunday has been found safe in Louisiana.

On Thursday, Heaven Ray Cox was found at a residence in Louisiana, safe and unharmed.

According to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, “After following several leads and speaking with numerous individuals, Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigators located Heaven Cox at a residence in Louisiana.  Heaven was unharmed and has been reunited with her family this evening.”

Sheriff’s detective Janois Strause Grizzaffi went on to say, “Preliminary reports (indicate) that Heaven left her residence last Saturday on her own accord, but we will continue to speak to all persons involved.  We have not ruled out pending criminal charges.”

The Sheriff’s Office spokesperson revealed that the Louisiana residence where Heaven Ray Cox was found belonged to a relative of a person who is known by the young teen girl.  Sheriff’s deputies are continuing to investigate this incident involving a minor child and could release more information about the teenager’s disappearance at a future date.

During their investigation into Heather Ray Cox’s disappearance, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received numerous calls, tips, e-mails and assistance from private citizens, public organizations and law enforcement agencies throughout Southeast Texas and beyond.

“We would like to thank everyone across many states for their assistance and prayers involved in locating Heaven,” said Detective Grizzaffi.
