EDC helps local businesses with recovery from Harvey

Your Orange County Economic Development Corporation has successfully reallocated some funds to help forty local businesses in their Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts. Using funds intended for land acquisition to be used to attract new businesses, the Orange County Commissioners Court authorized the Orange County EDC to reallocate some $150,000.00 of the $525,000 total annual County dues to be used for small business grants for already existing businesses in Orange County that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

 

The Orange County EDC Board of Directors voted to provide an additional $50,000 in funds from its budget to make a grand total of $200,000 for the disaster recovery grant program.
