Thursday is last day to apply with FEMA

People that have been indecisive about whether or not to apply for federal assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have to make up their minds today, or tomorrow at the very latest. The final registration deadline to apply for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is on Thursday, November 30th.


According to Tiana Suber, FEMA media relations specialist, “Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey now have until November 30, 2017, to register for federal assistance. The deadline had previously been scheduled for November 24, 2017. However, an additional six days of registration time were added to give storm survivors more time through the Thanksgiving holiday to register.” Federal assistance includes help for temporary housing, rental assistance and repair or replacement of damaged homes for eligible individuals and families who have suffered losses as a result of the storm. Additionally, grants may be available to help with other expenses such as medical and dental care, child care, funeral and burial costs, replacing essential household items, moving and storage, vehicle repairs and some cleanup items
