EDC offering cash to beleaguered businesses

By George Garza

“Economic development is not just about bringing new businesses in to Orange County,” said Jessica Hill, Director of the Orange County Economic Development Corporation, “it’s also about helping local, existing businesses to grow and prosper.” That was part of the rationale going through Ms. Hill’s mind when she came to the realization that the EDCorp needed to offer direct aid to storm ravaged Orange County businesses rather than to buy land to attract new businesses to our county.

If you own a business in Orange County and your business suffered losses of any kind due to the storm, you can apply in person for a $5,000 cash grant to be distributed to the first forty (40) Orange County business owners who apply successfully for the Harvey Small Business Disaster Recovery Grant program on Monday, October 23rd at the OCEDCorp office in Orange beginning at 9:00 a.m.
