VE PTO needs help with festival

Wendy Matthews, the President of the Vidor Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) needs a lot of help and she’s not afraid to beg or borrow.

“We’ve decided to put on a FREE Carnival this year instead of our usual fund-raising fall carnival,” said Ms. Matthews. “And we need all kinds of help.”

Ms. Matthews goes on to explain, “The Vidor Elementary School is housing about half of the flooded damaged Oak Forest Elementary School right now due to Hurricane Harvey. Right now our lovely campus is housing around 1,000 students in our classrooms every day.

The majority of these new students have been displaced from their flooded homes and familiar habitats. The Vidor elementary PTO has decided that we want to offer a worry-free fun day to all of our students and their families on Halloween day. So we checked with Principal Leger and decided to put on a FREE carnival that day.”
