State comptroller reports July sales gains across entire county

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar offered some good news to Orange Countians cleaning up and drying out after Hurricane Harvey. Retail sales were up in all seven Orange County municipalities and its unincorporated areas. Those same municipalities divvied up $1.182 in sales tax collected locally in July and returned to the municipality where it was collected and to Orange County last week.

Statewide, Hegar sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $668.3 million in local sales tax allocations for September, 6.2 percent more than in September 2016.
