Wastewater treatment plant is inundated

Temporary treatment solutions being planned

The Orange County Water Control & Improvement District #1 Wastewater Treatment Plant on Oak Lane in Vidor saw seven to nine feet of floodwater covering the entire facility. While the massive, six football fields sized AeroMod treatment structure was never breached by flooding; most of the rest of the plant was under water and suffered serious damage.


“There was never any interruption in the fresh drinking water distribution throughout our system throughout the duration of the storm and the subsequent power outages and massive flooding that occurred here,” said OCWC&ID#1 District Manager, Norman Blackman.
