School starts next Tuesday

The Vidor Independent School District announced Tuesday night that students will start attending classes on Tuesday, September 19th during normal attendance hours.

Because of the extensive flood damage to two VISD campuses, Vidor Middle School and Oak Forest Elementary School, students registered to attend those school will be reassigned to other VISD campuses.

According to Dr. Killgo, Superintendent of Schools, Oak Forest elementary student population will be divided nearly in half, with one group attending Vidor Elementary School and the other group attending Pine Forest Elementary School. There is a link on the vidorisd.org web site that includes a list of all of the streets and highways in the school district and designates to which elementary school your student is reassigned.

Sixth grade students from Vidor Middle School will attend classes at the Vidor Junior High School starting on Tuesday, September 19th.

Fifth grade students from Vidor Middle School are reassigned to attend classes in the 200 wing of the Vidor High School.

Parents are asked to help the school district get an idea of which students will be attending school in the Vidor I.S.D. next week and which will be attending school at other school districts by going to www.vidorisd.org and completing a short survey and returning it as soon a possible. All parents of students who were registered to attend a Vidor I.S.D. school before the arrival of the storm are requested to complete the survey.

Feel free to call the Vidor I.S.D. administration office at 951-8724 with any questions about school reassignments.
