New elected officials salary proposal advanced

Despite the fact that pay raises for Elected Orange County office holders seemed to be dead in the water just two weeks ago, a new proposal to adjust office holder salaries for the first time in ten years seems to be in the making.

Last week, the Orange County Commissioners’ Court voted to approve a new proposed pay rate schedule to be published in the county’s newspaper of record for two consecutive weeks. The vote was three for, one against and one absent, with Precinct #4 Commissioner Jody Crump casting the lone vote in opposition, and Precinct #2 Commissioner Barry Burton missing the meeting due to a family emergency.
