The United Christian Care Center of Vidor has received about thirty box fans from Entergy Texas that they will give to their clients, first come, first served, this week. On Thursday of last week Jim Malain, Entergy Texas Customer Service Manager for Orange County and Kacee Kirschvink, Entergy Texas Senior Communications Specialist from The Woodlands,

TX were at the United Christian Care Center on Wilson Street in Vidor when a flatbed trailered eighteen wheeler pulled up with approximately 500 fans, boxed and on pallets. Thirty of those fans were delivered in Vidor. “These free fan distributions are happening throughout the Entergy Texas service area.

This year, a total of 1,300 box fans will be distributed to almost 30 locations throughout the company’s service territory,” said Ms. Kirschvink. “The running of air conditioners can be very expensive, especially in this extreme heat that we have had. And fans are a really good way to stay cool so you don’t have run your air conditioner all the time. So for people that are on a limited income, these fans can make a big difference in helping them beat the summer heat.
