Current state of fishing on Sabine Lake after Cindy

As we eased away from the Causeway ramp in the gray early morning light the water looked pretty dirty. It was not that clear dark brown water that I had hoped for and certainly not anything near green but the water is often dirty around the Causeway bridge due to strong currents funneling through that narrow stretch. Maybe it would clear slightly when we were down the channel toward Sabine Pass. The tide was coming in a little higher than normal with a strong current pumped up with a twelve-knot east by north east wind, but not as high as it was the day prior. The storm surge pushed in by tropical storm Cindy is slowly abating day by day.
