Annual school district survey results are in

The 2017 Vidor I.S.D. School District Survey, that some of our readers were asked to participate in February, is now complete and the results are in. Last Monday, Vidor High School Principal Travis Maines presented those results to the district’s Board of Trustees. The annual School District survey is not simply an opinion poll about how parents, students and the district’s teachers are perceiving the efforts of the school district on issues such as bullying, substance abuse, equality, campus expectations homework, respect for school property and resources, class sizes, student input, parent volunteer opportunities and whether or not respondent are afraid to voice their concerns.
The Survey is an opportunity for the school district administration to find out where their efforts to promote learning are succeeding and where those efforts need more effort. The district survey consists of fourteen questions that all parents and teachers are asked to respond and that students in grades 7-12 were offered the opportunity to respond. Questions were answered on a 1-5 rating scale:
