VHS band students earn 169 medals at UIL contest

Vidor High School band students earned 169 first division medals at the regional UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest on Friday, Feb. 3rd at Lumberton High School. Earning a first division on Solos were: Cheyenne Ard (Class 1, Flute), Annabeth Harris (Class 3, Alto Saxophone), Emma Huebel (Class 2, Euphonium), Chance Kelly (Class 1, Trombone), Andrew Lane (Class 3, Euphonium), Joni LeDoux (Class 2, Bb Clarinet), Bethany Mudd (Class 2, Tenor Saxophone), Ana Plake (Class 1, Flute), Vincent Post (Class 1, Piano), Kaitlyn Shivers (Class 1, Flute), Makayla Simmons (Class 3, Flute), Kloe Smith (Class 3, Bb Clarinet).

Earning a first division solos that qualified for the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Ausin, Texas in May were: Ana Plake (Flute), and Vincent Post(Piano). Earning a first division on a Class II Small Ensemble were: Nickolas Campise, Allison Harmon, Grant Holden, Desiree’ LaForge, and Cameron Lawson.
