Pirates ready to play for piece

Coming off a lopsided win over Baytown Lee and then a bye week, Vidor Head Coach Jeff Mathews has had ample time to prepare for perhaps the Pirates’ biggest challenge of the season, the undefeated Port Arthur Memorial Titans. “Anytime everyone can play it is a good game,” Mathews said of the Pirates romp over the Ganders. Mathews pulled most starters after the first half. “Seeing those kids that don’t get to play that much getting to run the ball or to make a tackle, you know, winning is fun, but seeing that, that just makes it that much more fun.”
