Beautiful fall fishing weather

By Capt. Bill Watkins

It was a beautiful fall morning on Monday this past week. The wind was light east with a little bit of a slant to the northeast and the water was that pretty, clear Sabine Lake light coffee color. We were catching speckled trout in one of the larger sized bayous that drain into the lake. The fishing was fast and the trout small but plentiful and we already had a good box of fish going on.
