Training children to fish takes great patience

The sun was rising like an orange ball of fire out of the Gulf of Mexico as we cruised down the ship channel at Sabine Pass. We were cruising along at thirty miles per hour or so through the green calm waters just enjoying the cool morning boat ride. My wife Shirley and our grandson Levi were my crew on this Sunday morning and we were heading out to the “short rigs” for some speckled trout action. Levi was standing on the deck beside me behind the center console.
