Bounty hunters rob homeowners surreptitiously

It was like one of those elaborate schemes you might see on television shows like “Repo Man” or “Operation Repo” or “Airplane Repo”. Three people apparently conned their way into a Vidor home and then stole the homeowners’ car while distracting them. According to a Vidor Police Department report, the ruse and theft started early on Friday morning with a knock on the homeowner’s door at about 6:00 a.m. The homeowner who lives in far west Vidor, opened a door to find a man dressed mostly in black and wearing a black “Tactical” vest. The man told the homeowner that he was a bounty hunter in pursuit of a wanted person and that he had reason to believe the person he was seeking was in the homeowner’s back yard. He told the homeowner that he had rung his bell to ask for permission to enter the homeowners’ back yard.
