Thelma Joyce “Sammie” Gould

Thelma Joyce “Sammie” Gould, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 9th, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Sammie was a longtime resident of Vidor, TX and was a vital part in the building of First Pentecostal Church of Vidor where she was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years. She also sang in a trio growing up and continued doing so throughout the years. Sammie enjoyed sewing, working in her garden, cooking and serving others with a loving heart. She especially loved to spend time with her family and friends and always had an open door to all who came by. Sammie is survived by her daughters, Janet Martin and Brenda Pillsbury and husband Buddy of Vidor, a daughter-in-law, Nikki Gould of Vidor, 4 grandchildren, Christy Bryant and husband Carey, Angie Gau and husband George all of Vidor, Mark Martin and Melissa of Big Wells, TX, and Matt Martin and wife Jennifer of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, Whitney and Brooklynn Gau, Blake, Brady and Blain Martin, and Carlie Bryant, 3 Brothers, Henry Adams and wife Mary of Lumberton, TX, Charles Adams and wife Doris of Vidor, Robert Adams and wife Vickie also of Vidor and numerous nieces and nephews. Sammie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gould, son, Ronnie Gould, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Turning Point Church in Vidor. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Turning Point Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX.
