Michael Edward Rider, 54, of Vidor, passed away on Friday, January 24th, 2025. A longtime resident of Vidor, Michael dedicated 27 years of his life as a truck driver, navigating the open roads with pride and hard work. He was a passionate gun collector and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering for his team with unwavering loyalty. Above all, Michael cherished his time with his grandchildren, finding his greatest joy in their laughter and love. Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Cheryl Rider of Vidor, TX, and his children: Brittany Goodwin of Vidor, TX; Kali Baucum of Vidor, TX; Shelby Forister of Vidor, TX; Victoria Speers of Lumberton, TX; and Michael “Mikey” Rider of Daisetta, TX. He also leaves behind his brother, Brad Rider and wife Kathy of Ingram, TX, and his stepsister, Lisa Clow of Daisetta, TX. Michael was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren.
