John Austin Nagel, 78, passed away on December 11, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas. John called Vidor home for most of his life and was retired from Mobil Oil. He was a proud member of the U.S. Airforce where he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal for serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. John was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. He loved spending time at the beach or the deer camp with family and friends any chance he could. John is survived by his wife Carolyn of Lumberton and his children: Brady Nagel and Brandi Moree of Vidor and stepchildren: Scott Yates, Judd Adams, Jarrod Adams, and Travis Edgerton of Lumberton. He is also survived by his brother Charles Nagel of Vidor and 9 grandchildren.
