Homer Rodger Bland, 100, of Vidor, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Oakwood Manor in Vidor, Texas. A longtime resident of Zavalla, Homer lived a full and vibrant life, defined by his love for family, service, and simple joys. Known for his storytelling, Homer could captivate a room with his vivid memories and tales from days gone by. He was also a man of hobbies and passions. He loved exploring flea markets, where he would often find old jewelry to restore. His hands were rarely idle, whether tinkering with cars, watches, or other treasures. Freshwater fishing was another love of his, spending countless hours on the banks of East Texas lakes, finding peace in nature. Homer is survived by his loving daughter, Regina Lewis of Vidor, TX; his grandsons, Bryan Lewis and Rogers Lewis, both of Vidor, TX; and his four great-grandchildren.
