John Anthony Irwin, 65, passed away on July 6, 2024. Born on August 29, 1958, John served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1981, showing dedication to his country.
John enjoyed motorcycle rides through the countryside, spending time outdoors, and traveling. These activities brought him joy and a sense of freedom.
John is survived by his brother, Donald Irwin Jr., and wife, Gina, of Bon Wier, TX; his sister, Lisa Foote, of Bon Wier, TX; his children, John Anthony Rhodes and wife, Caitlyn Rebekah Rhodes, of Culpeper, VA, Henry Starks Horn of Clermont, FL, Nina Leary and husband, Mark Leary, of Farmville, VA, and his youngest son, Christopher Edward Irwin, of Crescent City, FL. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, John Aodhan Rhodes and Duncan Padraic Rhodes of Culpeper, VA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Elsa Lewis Irwin, and his father, Donald Edward Irwin Sr., of Bon Wier, TX.
John’s presence will be missed by his family and those who knew him.
A private family memorial will be held to honor John’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in John’s memory.
