A trees’ planting depth must be level with the soil surface, add a supporting structure, water thoroughly, and mulch to retain moisture. Fruit tree selections should be based upon USDA Zone for the area. Selecting trees which fall outside specific growing zones likely will not produce quality fruit or might not produce fruit at all (simplegardenlife.com).
