The Vidor Pirates scored early and late to defeat the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears 9-5 Tuesday in a district showdown.
The Pirates jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning after lead batter Austin Cadroy walked. A Reese Baker single put runners on first and second before Brody Atwood walked to load the bases with no outs.
