The Big Thicket Natural Heritage Trust has received a donation of 53.73 acres of land adjacent to the Lance Rosier Unit of the Preserve near Kountze. The property was once part of a large longleaf pine savannah and contains remnant longleaf pine and associated understory. A large pitcher plant bog is located in the Preserve next to the property.
