A lethargic start for the Vidor Pirates led to a district opening defeat at the hands of the fired up Splendora Wildcats by a score of 21-14 Thursday. The Pirates spotted the Wildcats 21 first half points before shaking off their stupor to score just before halftime to narrow the lead to 21-7.
