The varsity Vidor Pirate baseball team went 2-2 in the Bridge City tournament held last week. Opening play with the Jasper Bulldogs Thursday, the Pirates fell behind early after Jasper scored 2 runs at their first at bat and added 4 more in the second inning.

Friday was a successful day for Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Tennis. Students brought home 3 trophies from the Woodville Sergio Ramos Invitational. Jacob Miller and Logan Gaddis won the Boys B consolation bracket.

The varsity Vidor Pirate basketball team struggled through their early season but came on strong in the end winning three of their last four games and two out of three district matches. The Pirates ended the season with a 2-9 district record, good for sixth place.

The Vidor Pirate varsity soccer team dropped two district games last week to cross county rivals BC and LCM at home. Tuesday, the Pirates fell to the Bears 1-0 when a slow roller just before the half found its way into the net. “Both teams played very hard the whole game.

February 1 (Sour Lake) – The Lady Bears golf team took 2nd place in the Hardin-Jefferson Varsity Girls Invitational held at Idylwild Golf Club. The H-J Lady Hawks won the tournament with a team score of 380 while the Lady Bears took 2nd with a 409.

The Bears Varsity golf team took part in the Vidor Pirate Invitational held at Brentwood Country Club. The boy’s shot a team score of 318 to win the tournament by 12-strokes in the sixteen team/94 player field.
