Lady Pirate track takes 3rd at Orangefield

The Vidor Lady Pirate track team placed third at Orangefield Friday in their first meet of the season. Head Girls Track Coach Tracy Maines said, “the girls did very well and we ended up placing 3rd of a result correction in Triple Jump. The Lady Pirates placed 3rd overall.

Pirate varsity basketball wrapped up the 2021-2022 season on the road with a defeat against a tough Silsbee team104-41. Leading the Pirates in scoring was Brayden Root with10 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists.

The Vidor Pirate varsity soccer team narrowly lost Friday’s away match at Silsbee by a 2-1 score after a second tying goal by the Pirates was overturned by an offsides call. Ryan Liu scored for the Pirates with an assist from Samuel Estupinan.

The varsity Lady Pirate softball team travelled to Baytown for the Goose Creek ISD Softball Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday and when the tournament wrapped up Saturday, the Lady Pirates had won two of their six games.

The Vidor Lady Pirate Powerlifting Team earned another first place finish in the run up to district competition. This time, the meet was in Nederland and was held Thursday. Vidor boys’ team also competed and finished in a respectable fourth place.

The Vidor Lady Pirate softball team hosted the Hamshire Fannett Lady Horns in their season opener Tuesday and after battling seven full innings, the visitors managed to hold Vidor scoreless to win the game.

The Vidor Lady Pirates hosted the Lady Bulldogs of Jasper Friday at Pirate Stadium for a junior varsity and varsity soccer match, capping the first half of the season for Vidor. Following Tuesday’s bye, the varsity will head to Silsbee to kick off the second half of the season.

Pirate soccer ties HJ, drops one to Jasper

Last week the Vidor Pirate varsity boys soccer team hosted Hardin Jefferson and traveled to Jasper for two district matches. At home Tuesday varsu HJ, the Pirates tied 1-1 against HJ. “Samuel Estupinan scored our goal with an assist from Alex Ramos,” said Vidor Head Boys Soccer Coach Austin Powell.
