Vidor Junior High plans to field both boys and girls 7th and 8th grade soccer teams in the fall of 2022 competing against a number of other district schools. These youths are practicing at the junior high as part of an intramural league playing many of those same future district opponents. This is the second year for the local teams to play. VISD to begin soccer program at junior high

Get your kicks on the pitch! It has been successful at the high school level in Vidor for more than a decade and now Vidor ISD will be fielding boys’ and girls’ soccer teams for 7th and 8th graders beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

Pirates shut out Bridge City 10-0

The varsity Vidor Pirates shut out the Bridge City Cardinals 10-0 Friday at home for their second district win. Reagan Hallmark was on the mound for Vidor going five innings and allowing no runs on five hits and striking out six.

Tigers bite Pirates 4-1 Tuesday in Vidor

Vidor hosted Silsbee Tuesday night in a district contest that pitted the 4-1 Tigers against the 1-4 Pirates. After retiring the Tigers in the first inning without a score, the Pirates took their turn at the plate.

Three Pirates named to 21-4A All-District Soccer Team

Three Vidor Pirates were named to the 2022 21-4A All-District Team recently. Vidor junior Alex Ramos was a superlative named Utility Player of the Year. Chris Dilley, a senior, was named to the First Team All-District and Ryan Liu, also a senior, was named to the 2nd Team All-District.

Lady Pirates fall to Columbia 2-1 in Area Playoff game

The Vidor Lady Pirate soccer team travelled to Baytown Sterling High School for the Area Playoff game versus the Lady Necks of Columbia. A strong and gusty angling wind raked the length of the field the entire game and was a definite factor in scoring with all goals scored in the downwind net.

Lady Pirates swat Orangefield Lady Bobcats 8-1

The Vidor Lady Pirates logged their second district win with a lopsided 8-1 victory over the Lady Bobcats in Orangefield Friday. A Brilie Cornelison double in the first inning drove in three runs for the Lady Pirates.

Bobcats blank Pirates 10-0

The Orangefield Bobcats blanked the Vidor Pirates 10-0 Friday at Orangefield in a district game. Orangefield opened the scoring when the first Bobacat is hit by a pitch and then advanced to third on a bunt. he then scored on a line drive to centerfield. Reagan Hallmark was on the mound for Vidor.

Lady Pirate results from the Bridge City track meet 3/31/22

In Discus, Madison Powell placed 3rd with a throw of 93’3” Miley Rice Placed 6th in the Long jump with a jump of 15’2 ½” In Triple Jump, Jaden Lee placed 4 with a jump of 32’10 ¾” In High Jump 2 girls placed. Jaden Lee placed 6th and Reagan Stephenson placed 2nd with a jump of 5’2.

The Vidor Lady Pirates managed just two hits and committed six errors in a 10-0 defeat at home Friday by the Lady Bears of LCM. Andreya Garrett and Keaira McCurley each had one hit for Vidor.
