Robert Leon Stockwell, 71, lifelong resident of Vidor, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Oakwood Nursing Home in Vidor. An avid reader with a passion for old western movies who had a deep love for playing the guitar, and his family cherished the moments they shared listening to him play and sing, especially his renditions of Willie Nelson songs. Robert was known for his tremendous kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was immensely proud of all their achievements. Robert is survived by his wife, Amanda Stockwell of Vidor, TX; his brother, Alvie Stockwell; his daughter, Leslie Stockwell of Beaumont, TX; his stepson, Kelly Simmons of Beaumont, TX; his stepdaughter, Valerie Kennedy of Vidor, TX. He is also fondly remembered by his 7 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
